The Art Of War

Updated: Sep 9, 2022

The horse is prepared for the day of battle but victory is in the lord.....

You see information is power and knowledge begets skill. When preparing for battle the ancient chinese General Sun Tzu had a principle which he taught his subordinate generals, he made sure that they were knowledgeable in the art of war, they were taught that they should be adept in the military calculus of taking into account anything and everything that could affect the outcome of war. They were not to depend on their intuition, because to him an educated guess was way much better than a gut feeling.

We might not be at war, well not in the literal sense but it is important to learn some principles from how effectively solders prepare for war.

Discipline: self control, a set of rules regulating behaviour: waking up when everyone else is sleeping, studying when everyone else is partying. Forcing ones self to do the right thing even when one doesn't feel like it.

Determination: fixed resolution "need I say more 👌"

Consistence: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Galatians:6:9

hard work eventually pays,

Self discipline accomplishes more than eloquence or the most brilliant talent. An ordinary mind well disciplined, will accomplish more and higher work than will the most highly educated mind and the greatest talents without self control (Christ Object lessons )

Sounds like hard work, but its really not when you have an intrinsic motivator. That's why its important to have the love for whatsoever you are pursuing. Its not enough just to pass an exam, its not enough just to get it over and done with, you must love and actually enjoy what you do. Love studying, love the courses , love writing the exam and it will be a part of you, love your work, love your Career and most of all approach every task and job with a cheerful heart and positive attitude. As the saying goes "love what you do and you will never work a day in your life". If the love is not there then find a way to develop it (that's a topic for another day 😅).

But at the end of the day " I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."

Ecclesiastes:9:11

The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

Proverbs:21:31

Who do you put your trust and faith in to get you through all the battles that you face in life??? Mine is right here " Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Joshua:1:9"
