"A Society of no morals "

The writer of the gothic novel, Frankenstein’s monster makes a concession to the unreality of her tale in the preface of her book, she says however impossible a physical fact her story may represent, the intent of her story was to, and I quote “preserve the truth of the elementary principles of human nature”. The story begins with the introduction of a brilliant scientist Victor Frankenstein who stumbles upon the secret of life, he pieces together a make shift creature out of human parts and electrifies it to life. When the creature comes to life, he, Victor Frankenstein, discovers a horrifying truth that he cannot control it and it kills his brother, father, wife and finally to it kills him too. If Mary Shelley the writer of the novel, was successful in her intent, then perhaps her story wasn’t all fiction. The simple truth that is presented in the book is that as human beings there are certain boundaries that we shouldn't cross lest we creat monsters we can't control.

We are surrounded by nature, and a careful survey of nature will tell you that there are certain rules, laws or principles that govern nature in order to maintain sanity, otherwise there would be chaos and logic wouldn’t really exist. The trees grow towards sunlight (phototropism) because they need sunlight, flowers bloom, they have beautiful colors and nectar in order to attract bees, bees visit flowers to collect nectar and in the process participate in plant reproduction, a male lion mounts a female lion in order to produce little lions, it’s called reproduction. No matter how big or small a process in nature, there is always purpose to it and every process is governed by certain principles that maintain law and order. Now whether you believe in a Higher power that sets forth these principles or not, it is impossible to deny that these principles exist. Imagine if all the male lions started mounting other male lions, well lions would become extinct, because reproduction of baby lions would stop, it’s ridiculous to even think of such a thing, but is it really??

A trip Down memory lane.

Homosexuality, by definition, refers to an interest in sexual relations or contact with members of the same sex. It was de-medicalized as a psychiatric disorder and it was assigned the term sexual orientation disturbance by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) in 1973 (that is to say it was no longer considered a psychiatric disorder). it is interesting to note the words of Dr. Spitzer, M.D., associate professor of clinical psychiatry at Columbia, and member of the nomenclature committee of the A.P.A. he gives the reason as in to why Homosexuality was de-medicalized as a psychiatric disorder, this was during an interview, a few days after the decision of the APA.

he says “in no longer considering it a psychiatric disorder, we are not saying that it is normal, or that it is as valuable as heterosexuality”

in the interview it is clear that it was de-medicalized only because it did not fit the definition of a psychiatric disorder which according to him, a psychiatric disorder is a that must either regularly cause subjective distress or regularly be associated with some generalized impairment in social effectiveness or functioning (what this means is that as long as an individual can be able to carry out their day to day activities then the condition “homosexuality” is not a psychiatric disorder) . During the same interview another Doctor, Dr. Irving Bieber, M.D., clinical professor of psychiatry at the New York Medical College and chairman of the research committee on male homosexuality, uses this analogy to describe homosexuality.

Dr. Bieber “The central question is: Is homosexuality a normal sexual variant, that develops like left‐handedness does in some people, or does it represent some kind of disturbance in sexual development? There is no question in my mind: Every male homosexual goes through an initial stage of heterosexual development, and in all homosexuals, there has been a disturbance of normal heterosexual development, as a result of fears which produce anxieties and inhibitions of sexual function. His sexual adaptation is a substitutive adaptation.

I'd like to give you an analogy. In polio, you get a range of reactions of injuries. Some kids are totally paralyzed. Their walking function is gone. Others are able to walk with braces, others have enough muscle left so that they can be rehabilitated and can actually gel to walk by themselves. The analogy falls down only in that the injury of polio is irreversible. But what you have in a homosexual adult is a person whose heterosexual function is crippled like the legs of a polio victim. What are we going to call this? Are you going to say this is normal? That a person who has legs that have been actually paralyzed by polio is a normal person even though the polio is no longer active? The fears that have created the homosexuality, and the psychological inhibitions, belong in some kind of psychiatric representation.”

I pick the de-medicalization of homosexuality as a starting point because it was the genesis of a cascade of events that has led to the acceptance of homosexuality as the new normal. Now normal is a tricky word to use because sometimes it is subjective, what is considered as normal in one part might not be in another that is why I began with an emphasis on the principles of nature, call it biology or logic, moreover from the interview above it is clear that Dr. Bieber dint consider it (homosexuality) normal. In 1935 Sigmund Freud wrote a letter, in response to a mother who had written to him seeking for help regarding her homosexual child…the same letter would later become famous and what he says in the letter is quite interesting

The actual letter

“I gather from your letter that your son is a homosexual. I am most impressed by the fact that you do not mention this term yourself in your information about him. May I question you why you avoid it? Homosexuality is assuredly no advantage, but it is nothing to be ashamed of, no vice, no degradation; it cannot be classified as an illness; we consider it to be a variation of the sexual function, produced by a certain arrest of sexual development. Many highly respectable individuals of ancient and modern times have been homosexuals, several of the greatest men among them. (Plato, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, etc). It is a great injustice to persecute homosexuality as a crime –and a cruelty, too. If you do not believe me, read the books of Havelock Ellis. By asking me if I can help [your son], you mean, I suppose, if I can abolish homosexuality and make normal heterosexuality take its place. The answer is, in a general way we cannot promise to achieve it. In a certain number of cases we succeed in developing the blighted germs of heterosexual tendencies, which are present in every homosexual; in the majority of cases it is no more possible. It is a question of the quality and the age of the individual. The result of treatment cannot be predicted. What analysis can do for your son runs in a different line. If he is unhappy, neurotic, torn by conflicts, inhibited in his social life, analysis may bring him harmony, peace of mind, full efficiency, whether he remains homosexual or gets changed.” (Freud, 1935).

So then, even according to Freud homosexuality is caused by an arrest in sexual development, the disturbance of normal heterosexual development, it is as a result of fears which produce anxieties and inhibitions of sexual function. We can call it a distortion that causes inhibition to sexual function. So the experts clearly say there is something that is wrong. But can something be done about it,

Dr. Bieber “I'm interested in the implications this has for children and the whole question of prophylaxis. I can pick out the entire population at risk in male homosexuality at the age of five, six, seven, eight. If these children are treated, and their parents are treated, they will not become homosexuals”

I won’t get into “conversion therapy” for the topic at hand is already controversial enough, but according to Dr. Bieber something can be done to protect or cure children at an early stage who are at risk of homosexuality. Well if something can be done why then has it been accepted as the new normal? In 1956 an article about psychoanalysis for The Observer of London was published in which Anna Freud, Freud’s daughter refused to quote her father’s letter why?? This is the reason she gave “nowadays we can cure many more homosexuals than was thought possible in the beginning. The other reason is that readers may take this (the letter above) as a confirmation that all analysis can do is to convince patients that their defects or 'immoralities' do not matter and that they should be happy with them. That would be unfortunate."

Wow its really fascinating, and prior to that article, Anna Freud reported the successful treatment of homosexuals as neurotics in a series of unpublished lectures. So if really there have been cases recorded where adult homosexuals were cured why isn’t it that well known, or why wasn’t the therapy employed further explored??

The decision itself to de-medicalize homosexuality was more political than scientific, and even according to Dr. Spitzer who was for the decision, implies that the decision was made because the APA was forced to do so (how that was is anyone’s guess). Now when you listen and read about the debates that followed that decision (the de-medicalization of homosexuality) you will realize that at a certain point the debates become more about words and definitions and not really about what matters. In the decades to follow the APAs decision was the banning of all and any forms of conversion therapy or attempts to treat homosexuality in certain states.

The implication of the new normal is that we are growing in a society where the young and old are confused about their sexuality, a confusion that shouldn’t even be there . Now we have emerging of new terms to refer to people (bisexual, transgender, lesbians……etc. there are new terms and forms everyday) one person can wake up to day and be a female even though he is biologically a male and tomorrow he will be male according to whatever he/she or he-she/she-he chooses. You have to be careful when greeting strangers on the road because a simple “good afternoon Sir” can end you up in jail, because the same “sir” you just greeted might be biologically male but just because he feels like a female he decides to be called a female, and anyone who calls him sir might be jailed under the charges of victimization, or any other ridiculous charge that they can come up with (read the news some people have lost good bucks over cases like these). It’s ridiculous the kind of world we live in where everyone can do according to what is right to them. Others might not even be in the right state of mind but will hide under the pretense (or umbrella) of human rights and exercise the most vail forms of behavior and confuse the growing generation. And such things cannot be controlled, why because it was allowed, legalized. You don’t legalize insanity; you get help for it.

“we create the most horrifying monsters when we subvert Gods law and try to control, things that we were not meant to control” it is called overstepping our bounds. A reset button needs to be pressed because I bet the animals stare at us in shock because they have become wiser than us, I’ve never seen a male lion mount another male lion, why? they understand the basic principles of nature and biology. The world is not destroyed by those who do wrong but by those who sit back watch and not do a thing about it. now this insanity is popularized on the media as if such things are okay, the media on its own is being used as a poison to perpetuate the acceptance of such insanity not knowing that the growing generation is being corrupted and confused. Why do we think cases of depression, psychosis and all sorts of mental illnesses have increased since the legalization or acceptance of such insanity? We can debate latter about whether homosexuality is an illness or not but one thing it for sure it’s not normal just because society has decided to turn a blind eye doesn’t mean it’s right. It might not fit the definition of a psychiatric disorder in that it doesn’t cause subjective distress, but what of the high suicide and depression rates among homosexuals and if it’s an arrest of sexual development that causes it, doesn’t accepting it in society only worsen its effect on the growing generation ?. These people need help and turning a blind eye will only bring about a moral degradation to our species that will lead to a society without any morals or laws (and everyone did according to what was right in their minds), a society without a laws, a monster that cannot be controlled, a monster created by our own hands, Frankenstein’s Monster. To the impartial; knowledge is knowing that Victor Frankenstein’s creature was a monster and wisdom is knowing that Victor Frankenstein was the monster.

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imagination, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise they became fools….for this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature; and likewise the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one towards another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet….who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” Romans 1:21,22,26,27 and 32

“Impurity is today widespread, even among the professed followers of Christ. Passion is unrestrained; the animal propensities are gaining strength by indulgence, while the moral powers are constantly becoming weaker…the sins that destroyed the antediluvians and the cities of the plain exists today. Not merely in heathen lands, not only among popular professors of Christians, but with some who profess to be looking for the coming of the son of man. If God should present these sins before you as they appear in his sight, you would be filled with shame and terror.:” Testimonies for the church 5:218

Church members need to fast and pray, striving earnestly to overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of the testimony. Not one practice of sodomitish impurity will escape the wrath of God at the execution of the judgment. Those who do not repent and forsake all uncleanness will fall with the wicked. Those who become members of the royal family and form Gods kingdom in the earth made new, will be saints, not sinners. Isaiah 30:1-3,8-16, {TSB 119.3}.

This universe has a Creator and a Designer, and he has given us rules and principles to live by, in this world. Yes, it has been deteriorated by sin and He has to come and hit the reset button otherwise the future of the human race isn’t so bright morally. God wrote his Principles in the bible and sent it to us to use it as a guideline. He loves everyone and those who seek help and guidance from Him, He will surely guide them. There is nothing right about certain practices that we have come to accept as normal, our Creator loves every one “he came to seek and save that which was lost” Luke 19:10. He loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us and to cleanse us from sin, all we have to do is believe in him and obey what He says. It is time to go back to our creator’s original plan for us.

“as a sinner when I look at myself I see no way I can be saved, but when I look at Christ Jesus my savior, I see no way that a sinner can be lost for all things are possible through Christ”.
